2 for 1

Hi Guys!
It’s getting pretty late here tonight and I have held up my resolve to spend time with Family and friends and NOT online for the majority of the day. With it being 9/11 I thought that was more important. We didn’t do anything special just sort of hung out together, watched some Naruto, ate nachos for dinner and curled up under the blankets together as a family while we watched Rockford Files. All in all a great day.
OK OK I know you aren’t here to hear my talk about simple things like that, but when I started this blog it was about my journey through life so I could look back and smile when I was done. So now I will get down to the business of why you are probably here, new craft projects.
As the title suggests I have 2 projects this time. The first is a 8×8 Disney mini that a friend ordered. The hardest thing was getting started, trying to imagine mixing the bright Mickey papers and the pastel Princess papers had me worried. But it kind of took over and ran away. Lucky for me the Lady and her daughter both LOVED it. Only problem is now I have to make a second one 😀
Time for some pictures. This is the same tutorial I wrote and used for Daddy’s Little Princess ( w/ G45 Gilded Lily ). The tutorial loaned itself to this project perfectly. in total there are 12 8×8 layout opportunities, 8 6×6 tags, 4 more 5×6 tags and bunches of features for journaling and adding pictures. I used my pazzles to cut a lot of the features and the papers are mostly Sandy Lion ( I think ). Magnets through out hold things together.

The Pink mat here is just to show that a 5×7 photo will slide under the Disney and date etc.IMG_20150911_074452

The red pants here are a 9×3 1/2 pocket to hold her badge and memorabilia. The Hands have magnets and open wide to allow journaling inside them.IMG_20150911_074521IMG_20150911_074534IMG_20150911_074557IMG_20150911_074609IMG_20150911_074643

Each of the 5 1/2 x 6 pages holds the mouse ears 6×5 tag. I didn’t take them all out but they are all the same, with the decorative tape on bottom.IMG_20150911_074714IMG_20150911_074732IMG_20150911_074754

These ‘britches’ were cut on my pazzles and make a perfect pocket for some 6×4 photos in a pull out feature.IMG_20150911_074822IMG_20150911_074852

The large 8×8 tag pulls out to reveal the film strip. I left the open spaces OPEN so she can add in personal photos and the extra Mickey is her guide to size them when she cuts them.IMG_20150911_074943IMG_20150911_075044The MAIN story she told me about her trip was when she and her daughter approached the castle. So I made this a MAIN feature throughout the mini. Here is a layout for their story. The little castle is not attached yet and opens to hold her story in her writing. Since most people are nervous about writing in a mini I left it unattached for now to make it easier to write in. The right photo mat is 5 1/4 x 7 1/4 for a 5×7 photo.IMG_20150911_075056IMG_20150911_075136IMG_20150911_075218IMG_20150911_075233IMG_20150911_075256IMG_20150911_075330IMG_20150911_075345IMG_20150911_075400IMG_20150911_075417

I tried to get as many of the old time characters in as I could so each page, flap etc is a different one, with the exception of Mickey, Cinderella and the castle.

The Bibbidy Bobbidy Boo is open for more journaling and held by magnets.

PHEW that was a LOT of photos, but its a lot of fun too.

Up next is another G45 Time 2 Flourish project. This one will never be finished. It uses the 12×12 T2F papers, the 8×8 calendar papers, some of the 6×6 papers and some laminate, cling vinyl, cardstock, key rings, and lots of photos and journaling. These come together to make a dry erase calendar that holds photos, stores dates, and is totally customizable.

*sigh* it still needs an official cover but since g45 didn’t supply one with these papers and I will be adding a lot more personal touches as I go, the cover is a work in progress. Basically all 12 pages are the same and all 12 tags follow the same recipe making it a fairly easy project to make. I laminated the calendar pages and attached them to the base page that I made using JUST the 12×12 papers. Doing this allowed me to use and show both sides in the album without having to buy 2 pads. The flap holds a 2 1/2 x 8 tag for small photos and I printed lines on 1 side so I can write in dates. For example in January my family has 2 birthdays – Nancy Jeanne and John Edward – I will write out their names and date of birth on the lines of the tag.  I have punched out photos of them and attached those to the cling vinyl so they adhere to the laminated calendar. Now I can use a dry erase marker to add dates and each year redo it so it is correct. the side of the narrow tag that will be small pictures will be laminated also to hold the punched ones while I clean and redo the calendar. SOUNDS WAY harder than it is trust me. But if you didn’t follow that check out my youtube on Monday as I will post a video so you can see it in action. The back of each page holds an 8×8 tag with an envelope to hold little bits and things and some 6×4 photos. The envelopes are very heavy duty and came from Gone Artsy.   http://goneartsy.zibbet.com/shop?shop_section=118910
Don’t forget if you use my DT code you get 15% off ( DTMiki ).
As I write this I am pretty sure Tamra has the papers in stock https://www.facebook.com/tammyscountrycraftcreations?fref=ts
so you can still get what you need to make this. I wish the pictures and words could really show just what this album does, but I don’t think they do it justice. Please check out my Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHOrw4q74e7fT-ch4UGI_OQ?view_as=public
I promise I will get the video for this up Monday. This and a few others I haven’t shared yet 🙂

This Poinsettia is 3D and attached to the cling vinyl and sticks to the laminate

Well that was a lot. I hope you followed along and will check in here again and on my youtube next week. Leaving a comment is not required but always appreciated.
Thanks for coming,
