Well can you guess what day it is? 🙂

As I write this it is actually Wednesday Sept 30th, just about 7am. The boys have just left to drop off hubby and go to college for the morning. So, the granpups and I are sitting under blankets and sipping coffee. But if you are here it is probably because you are wanting to see the real reason for this post. My 1st ever DT SHARE!! I have probably mucked it up and should have been sharing all along. My second share is only four days from now on October 3rd. So to make up for not sharing properly all along I am going to share something every day from now until the 3rd.

When Deb told me to go ahead and try out I really thought she was merely being kind to a follower. When she said I made it as a guest DT I KNEW she was being overly kind to me. If you have read or seen any of my other posts you would know my style is clean and simple ( Fast and Easy to be exact ). I am not the one to make a lace handbag, do shabby chic or alter something. No matter how hard Itza tried I am just not that type. So why did Deb chose me? That’s a great question. The answer is . . . I do not know. She said she wanted to show different things one can use her supplies on, so I will go with that. I am going to show you projects ( some new and a few older ones ) that show different uses for her goodies than just wedding and altering.
Today I am focusing on Mini albums. My Daddy’s Little Princess album is the first project I made using my DT stash, and I used quite a few different items. So you can get the complete rundown on them either by going to the post about that mini or going to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUB45KnYNXk. OK I know A LOT of people use laces on the cover, but what I wanted to show you today is the use inside the mini. I love Debs dangle laces and I really liked how it shows off the pockets I inserted it into.11222112_10200571418483552_2826421056323735606_n I think the flowers and dangles are so perfect here and for this paper. This is the cover.
DLP cover open These are some of the laces I used in this mini. I also used seam binding and it was a PERFECT match for the G45 papers. If you want to run over to her store it is temporarily closed while she is out of town, but my DT code – DTMIKI – will be good for 15% off until the end of the year ( and if enough of you use it maybe longer 😛 ).DLP laces from Gone Artsy

Now for something you haven’t seen before, the dress I made as a card for her Christening. It uses the Victorian Fan lace that I love, organza roses and pearls, seam binding and some bling. The card was cut using a file from Cards By Bird and can located at this link ( you may have to look for it under princess cards ) http://www.birdscards.com/free-digital-cut-files/shaped-cards/  I think this is one of my favorite cards to have made yet.11798233_1050784871599698_1046954455_n
Some other ways to use Deb’s goodies in minis are lace coverlace 2
or how about  , , IMG_20150529_180350  using a doily to keep the round vintage images going. Or you can of course use another of my favorites, the ribbon lace. Adding some seam binding makes it a perfect match for just about every album I have used it on. IMG_20150802_181924
Don’t forget you can color these laces. It is pretty easy actually, Deb has some classes on it here http://www.ustream.tv/channel/gone-artsy-live-classes
She has live classes Tuesdays at 7pm CST. They are a lot of fun to hang out and learn.
I colored some laces and used them for this tag. If I can color laces so can you. So don’t worry about wanting color, these laces are high quality and will color wonderfully using one of Deb’s techniques.
OK I am going to wrap up todays post by saying this. . . If there is one thing I have learned from Deb and her gift of putting me on her DT it is that it’s OK to cut, color and USE the good laces ( and with Deb’s deals and my DT code – DTMiki – you can do that AND hoard some too ).
See you tomorrow,

2 for 1

Hi Guys!
It’s getting pretty late here tonight and I have held up my resolve to spend time with Family and friends and NOT online for the majority of the day. With it being 9/11 I thought that was more important. We didn’t do anything special just sort of hung out together, watched some Naruto, ate nachos for dinner and curled up under the blankets together as a family while we watched Rockford Files. All in all a great day.
OK OK I know you aren’t here to hear my talk about simple things like that, but when I started this blog it was about my journey through life so I could look back and smile when I was done. So now I will get down to the business of why you are probably here, new craft projects.
As the title suggests I have 2 projects this time. The first is a 8×8 Disney mini that a friend ordered. The hardest thing was getting started, trying to imagine mixing the bright Mickey papers and the pastel Princess papers had me worried. But it kind of took over and ran away. Lucky for me the Lady and her daughter both LOVED it. Only problem is now I have to make a second one 😀
Time for some pictures. This is the same tutorial I wrote and used for Daddy’s Little Princess ( w/ G45 Gilded Lily ). The tutorial loaned itself to this project perfectly. in total there are 12 8×8 layout opportunities, 8 6×6 tags, 4 more 5×6 tags and bunches of features for journaling and adding pictures. I used my pazzles to cut a lot of the features and the papers are mostly Sandy Lion ( I think ). Magnets through out hold things together.

The Pink mat here is just to show that a 5×7 photo will slide under the Disney and date etc.IMG_20150911_074452

The red pants here are a 9×3 1/2 pocket to hold her badge and memorabilia. The Hands have magnets and open wide to allow journaling inside them.IMG_20150911_074521IMG_20150911_074534IMG_20150911_074557IMG_20150911_074609IMG_20150911_074643

Each of the 5 1/2 x 6 pages holds the mouse ears 6×5 tag. I didn’t take them all out but they are all the same, with the decorative tape on bottom.IMG_20150911_074714IMG_20150911_074732IMG_20150911_074754

These ‘britches’ were cut on my pazzles and make a perfect pocket for some 6×4 photos in a pull out feature.IMG_20150911_074822IMG_20150911_074852

The large 8×8 tag pulls out to reveal the film strip. I left the open spaces OPEN so she can add in personal photos and the extra Mickey is her guide to size them when she cuts them.IMG_20150911_074943IMG_20150911_075044The MAIN story she told me about her trip was when she and her daughter approached the castle. So I made this a MAIN feature throughout the mini. Here is a layout for their story. The little castle is not attached yet and opens to hold her story in her writing. Since most people are nervous about writing in a mini I left it unattached for now to make it easier to write in. The right photo mat is 5 1/4 x 7 1/4 for a 5×7 photo.IMG_20150911_075056IMG_20150911_075136IMG_20150911_075218IMG_20150911_075233IMG_20150911_075256IMG_20150911_075330IMG_20150911_075345IMG_20150911_075400IMG_20150911_075417

I tried to get as many of the old time characters in as I could so each page, flap etc is a different one, with the exception of Mickey, Cinderella and the castle.

The Bibbidy Bobbidy Boo is open for more journaling and held by magnets.

PHEW that was a LOT of photos, but its a lot of fun too.

Up next is another G45 Time 2 Flourish project. This one will never be finished. It uses the 12×12 T2F papers, the 8×8 calendar papers, some of the 6×6 papers and some laminate, cling vinyl, cardstock, key rings, and lots of photos and journaling. These come together to make a dry erase calendar that holds photos, stores dates, and is totally customizable.

*sigh* it still needs an official cover but since g45 didn’t supply one with these papers and I will be adding a lot more personal touches as I go, the cover is a work in progress. Basically all 12 pages are the same and all 12 tags follow the same recipe making it a fairly easy project to make. I laminated the calendar pages and attached them to the base page that I made using JUST the 12×12 papers. Doing this allowed me to use and show both sides in the album without having to buy 2 pads. The flap holds a 2 1/2 x 8 tag for small photos and I printed lines on 1 side so I can write in dates. For example in January my family has 2 birthdays – Nancy Jeanne and John Edward – I will write out their names and date of birth on the lines of the tag.  I have punched out photos of them and attached those to the cling vinyl so they adhere to the laminated calendar. Now I can use a dry erase marker to add dates and each year redo it so it is correct. the side of the narrow tag that will be small pictures will be laminated also to hold the punched ones while I clean and redo the calendar. SOUNDS WAY harder than it is trust me. But if you didn’t follow that check out my youtube on Monday as I will post a video so you can see it in action. The back of each page holds an 8×8 tag with an envelope to hold little bits and things and some 6×4 photos. The envelopes are very heavy duty and came from Gone Artsy.   http://goneartsy.zibbet.com/shop?shop_section=118910
Don’t forget if you use my DT code you get 15% off ( DTMiki ).
As I write this I am pretty sure Tamra has the papers in stock https://www.facebook.com/tammyscountrycraftcreations?fref=ts
so you can still get what you need to make this. I wish the pictures and words could really show just what this album does, but I don’t think they do it justice. Please check out my Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHOrw4q74e7fT-ch4UGI_OQ?view_as=public
I promise I will get the video for this up Monday. This and a few others I haven’t shared yet 🙂

This Poinsettia is 3D and attached to the cling vinyl and sticks to the laminate

Well that was a lot. I hope you followed along and will check in here again and on my youtube next week. Leaving a comment is not required but always appreciated.
Thanks for coming,

Another Heartfelt Creations Mini

If by chance you read the sparkling poinsettia post you would know that I received a package of HC Sparkling Poinsettia papers from Tamra over at https://www.facebook.com/tammyscountrycraftcreations?fref=ts
Country Craft Creations in Hooper. If you want any paper line or some other great embellishments you really want to check out her store. We are doing an online crop on Sat Sept 12th. So join us here https://www.facebook.com/groups/1585111948390881/ to join the fun.
Anyway, back to what I wanted to post about . .  I had so much Sparkling Poinsettia paper left that I went ahead and made a second 6×6 fast and easy mini. I don’t think you need detailed description but if you have any questions about any of it leave a comment and I will gladly answer them.
11953245_10200653152926862_5485303666176515877_n90% of this album made itself as the papers were perfect for this size album. I did a very little fussy cutting and then cut out features from the papers. A touch of seam binding and Voila!11887843_10200653152446850_2522871535383107817_n  One thing I did do different on this album is that I made the flaps from the top and only about 3/4 of the page and one half pocket with lattice punch. I inserted a smaller tag ( from a cut out ) into the lattice  to hold the flap down and larger tags ( also from cut outs) inside.11905389_10200653153206869_4537422926595104111_n 11056893_10200653152326847_7513414605230157929_n

So, because of the paper this album took a whole 3 hours ( also had some old Rockford Files on so may have been distracted just a bit ) to make.  I still have enough to make at least 1 more of these AND some cards for Christmas.
If you decide to make one of my 6×6 fast and easy minis please let me know!
Watch for a new post again by Saturday. I have 2 bigger projects just about done that I will be posting on Saturday.

Until then GO create some fun.
