Flip Book

Well, If you read my last post you would know that I went through my drawer the other day and used a folio I had received and some wonderful Marion Smith Papers. I found I had a Theresa Collins Flip book in there too. IMG_20150524_130109I took it out and had a look. It had a nice cover and some white cardstock “pages” that flip when you pulled the tag. Only it didn’t work. the “pages” were too big to fit through the flip mechanism. I did however really like the cover, and I used the mechanism before for a Christmas card one year. When I took it apart I could see that it wouldn’t be hard to fix. I cut down the white cardstock “Pages”,IMG_20150524_130421 cut a new ‘holder’ and reattached it to the cover.

VOILA!!! Now all I needed was to decorate it.

The “pages” are not large and the left over pieces of Marion Smith Gypsy fell into my lap and a match was made.  I added an acetate flip out page that will sandwich things and a few other things. I really like how easy it was to fix and decorate.

You really should give this one a try, I can see it being fun for kids to decorate! Maybe some stop action pictures in it. Have fun.

Thanks for reading!

FOLIO! yep I made one :)

A while ago I won a large TH folio, I really had no idea what I would do with it or when so it sat in my drawer. I recently ordered the Marion Smith Junque Gyspy from Country Craft creations https://www.facebook.com/tammyscountrycraftcreations?fref=ts   and when I saw it I didn’t know what I would do with it, so it went into the drawer too. Not that is wasn’t beautiful but it had so many cut apart pages that I could not see getting enough whole paper to make a mini ( even my easy one ).  Well to shorten this story I was going through the drawer and found both items snuggled together and took it as a sign. I heavily distressed the folio with sprays and water colors,IMG_20150522_113349 IMG_20150522_113419 IMG_20150522_113653

I cut apart all the cut a parts, I sewed the book together and then assembled.IMG_20150523_110354IMG_20150523_110512IMG_20150523_110500 I really love how the book came together.

The acetate page was a lot of fun as well. IMG_20150523_110346

Here are some more pictures of the rest of the folio. It really is ALL about the beautiful papers.IMG_20150523_110236IMG_20150523_110341IMG_20150523_110336IMG_20150523_110540IMG_20150523_110401 It was truly a first for me to make something that wasn’t photo focused even though I made sure it would hold quite a few photos. Since Cyndi was invited to a Garden walk and it has a floral feel I am giving it to her.

I hope you like it and if you decide to give it a try tell Tamra I sent you 🙂

thanks for reading,

IF you have actually seen any of my last two posts you know I have been making baby items and things by request. So I decided ( while I was waiting for more Time 2 Flourish paper to arrive) to use up some stash and play for a bit. This is what I came up with.IMG_20150521_193122

This mini is really a monster mash of so many people who influence me. There is some Zandra, Kathy Orta, Laura Dennison, ArteDar, Jennifer Every, Carol Duvall and many more. So please if you see something you have done, instead of getting upset thinking I stole an idea, be happy someone liked what you made and used it.

This album has at least 7 interactive elements and loads of room for photos of all sizes and journaling. The papers I used are some DCWV and TH and misc papers ALL from my stash. MOST of the embellishments and interactive parts were drawn and cut by hand. I did use my pazzles for the SpiderLaceDoiley (by Bird), the web corners, bats, fence, greenery, pumpkins, and tree ( geesh) BUT they could have been done by hand if I wasn’t aware I had paper coming for ordered project I had to get done.

OK  on to some ( a lot ) of pictures.

I just love the witch in the window – when I do this again I think I will make her 3D in there not just the window.IMG_20150521_193104IMG_20150521_193112

The Cauldron still needs to be embellished but I wasn’t sure if I wanted ooey gooey or candy filled. It does come out and open up to hold 2 photos/journaling.

IMG_20150521_193146IMG_20150521_193159I love this picture frame and even hubby laughed when he saw this element.

IMG_20150521_193223The book can hold photos/journaling and is TH ATC size. It opens up for 6 pages to hold things.

Next is the Hall of Photos, for a silhouette challenge on FB in INSPIRE LAUGH CREATE group.IMG_20150520_063127Then comes Silly bat, her head spins to add more Photo opportunities. The pocket on the other side has Zandra’s dome and a spot for a hidden photo.IMG_20150521_193245IMG_20150521_193323IMG_20150520_063248

Another pocket and a folded attached book

Then we have Bird’s spider lace doily and some glossied up bottles.IMG_20150521_193529

The coffin is next. It opens and has embossed bats on it. Another Tag/pocket page.IMG_20150521_193538IMG_20150521_193551

My little Pumpkins are next These pumpkins would be easy to cut by hand.IMG_20150521_193630 They open up to hold photos.IMG_20150521_193642

That brings us to another tag/pocket page and the back cover.

There are 4 big tags with spaces for 4×6 photos as well. Here are some pictures of all the tags.

IMG_20150521_194001 The 4 larger tags have roof top shapes to add to the over all effect of the house because they can be seen from the front.

I am overall really happy with how it came out and how much stash I used and different techniques I got to play with.

thanks for reading.

I am so thrilled and excited to say that my Date Organizer is a hit! It seems other people want to make one. So I have teamed up with Tamra from Country Craft Creations to offer MY tutorial and a kit to make it! I mean really?!!? me?! yep! She has faith in me and is great to work with so I am in 100%. The kit can be found here https://www.facebook.com/tammyscountrycraftcreations?fref=ts
The kit costs 38.95 and includes 2 G45 pads, tutorials for album and cards, the cardstock and embellishments.

Tamra hosts a Facebook group and live online crops about every 6 weeks. We get together online and craft and have fun playing games. The next one is set for June 5th and 6th. That group can be found here https://www.facebook.com/groups/1585111948390881/

You should join us for this next one, lots of games, prizes and fun to be had.

Even if you don’t want to make this project I recommend Tamra’s shop for your G45 needs. I have not been able to find G45 anywhere that beats her price ( even with shipping ) and the fast posting and great customer service make it a winner.

WOW Where did the Time GO?

Ok I’m guilty! I admit it freely. I didn’t keep up with my blog. I was off to a great start but well . . . between being sick ( stupid cough lasted 10 weeks) and doing things ( yes I DID things lol ), I just didn’t blog.

SO, here are some of the things I DID while I was away.

The latest is this Date Organizer using G45 Time to Flourish papers. Tamra at https://www.facebook.com/tammyscountrycraftcreations?fref=ts is selling a KIT including a tutorial for this project. I am so BLESSED to have found her store and FB group. She hosts online crops with activities and games about every 6 weeks. She also sells G45 papers and embellishments. So go check her out. Ok so here are some pictures of this project.APRIL-MAY CARDS IMG_20150507_131936 IMG_20150507_131947 IMG_20150507_132026 IMG_20150507_132119 IMG_20150507_132144 IMG_20150507_132149 IMG_20150507_132201 IMG_20150507_132205 IMG_20150510_171811 mini box card 3 mini shaker card

incase you are wondering what it is let me explain. It’s a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 mini exploding album, that has plenty of places for you to write dates like birthdays and anniversaries etc. It also has room for pictures. Its meant to be used year after year as a reminder since it doesn’t have a CALENDAR only dates. The supplies listed in the tutorial and in the kit have enough scraps to make at least 12 stepper cards, and a bunch of mini cards. AND I STILL have TONS left to make more. The tutorial includes measurements for the album and  3 styles of cards. Hope you like it!

Well I need to hit the Curves so ill try to keep up better.

Thanks for Looking!
